Imagine.....
a beautiful landscape of rolling hills
dotted with rows of lavender and
everywhere you look, unencumbered views
of the canyonlands. This is our farm!
Three years ago we planted lavender
as a new venture. Our desire for a
sustainable way of living brought us to
this plant and it's many valuable
properties, so as we tested 400 plants
of different species/varieties, we
started to imagine the unlimited
possibilities before us.
We found out very quickly that lavender
was well suited to this rugged terrain,
so it was just a matter of how much,
when and where.
So we chose three different species
(L. Angustifolia, L. Intermedia, & L.
Stoechas) and eighteen varieties
within these groups totaling 3,500
plants.
We spread them out over three
acres, keeping the rest of the
150 acres to native landscape.
Because of the many varieties,
we have a successive bloom time
from April through November. We
open up the farm to the public
from May through October for
"cut your own lavender" weekends
as we enjoy sharing this dream
with others.
Our farm is owned and operated by three
generations of our family. We pride
ourselves on using sustainable organic
practices and honoring the land's
natural beauty.
Bring your family and
come see for yourself! |
